Bring any imaging, PT notes, or specialist guidance to your intake. ESWT is most effective when applied to a clearly diagnosed condition.

48 hours before

Avoid anti-inflammatory medication (NSAIDs) if possible, they can interfere with the inflammatory healing cascade ESWT triggers.

Day of

Hydrate well. Communicate any new symptoms or recent injury changes at intake.

Afteryour treatment.

Same day

Mild soreness is expected, this is the inflammatory response that drives healing. Avoid ice for the first 48 hours.

First 48 hours

Avoid NSAIDs for the duration of the series if possible. Light movement is supportive; intense exercise on the treated region is not.

Series cadence

Five to seven days between sessions. Full results progress over four to eight weeks following the final session.

Shockwave Therapy, as experienced.

Plantar fasciitis for two years that wasn't responding to anything. Three ESWT sessions one week apart and within six weeks I was running again. Bringing my PT's notes to the first session helped, they targeted exactly the right point.

Questionsanswered.

Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, bursitis, osteoarthritis, rotator cuff injuries, and stress fractures are the most thoroughly studied applications. ESWT is FDA-approved for tendon and soft-tissue conditions and is well-supported in published research.

Most conditions respond best to a series of three sessions, five to seven days apart. Some chronic conditions benefit from up to five sessions. Single sessions are useful for acute issues or maintenance after a completed series. Series bookings receive a 10% discount.

The sensation is firm but not painful for most patients. Some areas, particularly very inflamed tendons, may be uncomfortable for the first 30 to 60 seconds. Intensity is adjustable and your therapist will calibrate to your tolerance.

ESWT is clinically studied with virtually no significant side effects for most patients. Mild redness or soreness in the treated region is normal for 24 to 48 hours. Rare side effects include minor bruising or temporary numbness, both typically resolve within days.

ESWT is not appropriate during pregnancy, over active infections or open wounds, near pacemakers or implanted electronic devices, on areas with malignancy, or for clients with bleeding disorders. Please disclose all medical conditions at booking.
