Beforeyour visit.

Before booking

Confirm with your OB or midwife if you have any complications, high-risk pregnancy, or recent medical events. Bring any guidance to your session.

Day of

Hydrate well. Eat a small meal within two hours of your session, pregnancy can affect blood sugar regulation. Avoid an empty stomach.

What to mention

Any new symptoms, swelling concerns, blood pressure changes, or sleep issues. Your therapist adapts the session to what's current.

Afteryour treatment.

Same day

Continue hydrating. Some clients feel sleepy or emotionally tender after. This is normal. Allow a slow afternoon if possible.

First 24 hours

Light movement supports the work. Stay aware of any unusual symptoms and contact your provider if anything feels off, though this is rare.

Cadence

Many clients book monthly throughout pregnancy and shift to fortnightly in the third trimester. Postnatally, sessions in the early weeks support recovery.

Prenatal, as experienced.

Booked monthly through both pregnancies and the postnatal recovery sessions afterwards. The team genuinely understands prenatal, positioning, pressure, what's safe and what isn't. The fact that the oils are made in their lab and pregnancy-safe was the deciding factor for me.

Questionsanswered.

Yes, when performed by our therapists using appropriate positioning and pressure protocols. Resonance Marin follows evidence-based guidelines on timing, pressure, and positioning at every stage of pregnancy. All products used are pregnancy-safe and formulated in our lab. We recommend reading our Journal article on prenatal massage safety before booking if you have any questions about first-trimester treatment.

Side-lying with bolsters from approximately 20 weeks. Face-down positioning is not used past the first trimester regardless of any cushioning system. Your therapist will set up the table for full comfort and adjust as your pregnancy progresses.

Please consult your OB or midwife before booking. If you have clearance, bring any specific guidance to your session. We may decline or modify protocols for certain high-risk presentations, your safety is the priority.

After cleared bleeding and any provider check-ins (typically two to six weeks postpartum, depending on delivery type and recovery). Bring delivery context to your intake, the postnatal protocol differs by stage.

Positioning, pressure, and product safety. A regular Swedish or deep tissue is not safe at most stages of pregnancy. Our prenatal protocol uses pressure calibrated to changing physiology, side-lying positioning past the first trimester, and INBAR+co pregnancy-safe formulations, none of which are standard in a non-prenatal session.
