Resonance Marin opened as a Marin County spa in 2017, committed from the start to clean beauty product choices that most spas weren't making. Within a year, the curiosity ran deeper. The first in-house formulations began in 2018. By 2019, the lab was operational and the first INBAR+co products were on the shelf. Today, every cleanser, serum, oil, and balm used in a treatment is developed and produced in that lab. Nothing is sourced from third-party distributors.
How the lab happened
It started as a spa. Then we built a lab.
In 2017, Resonance opened its doors at 26 Tamalpais Drive, a Marin spa committed to cleaner products than most spas were willing to stock. For the first year, that meant being selective about what we brought in.
By 2018, the limits of that approach were obvious. Even the best clean-beauty brands left gaps, formulations that didn't quite fit our treatment protocols, ingredient combinations that the research supported but no product on the market had assembled correctly, fragrance choices that ruled out anyone sensitive. The first in-house formulations began that year, experiments in the back of the spa, refined on willing clients in the treatment rooms.
By 2019, the lab was a formal operation. The first INBAR+co products were on the shelf. Today, the same formulations applied during your treatment are available to take home, shipping globally from our Corte Madera location through inbar-co.care.

A results-driven spa offering advanced facials, therapeutic and Eastern bodywork, lymphatic and acupuncture-led recovery, and a complete nervous-system Restore protocol. Every treatment uses formulations from the lab on the same site, no third-party product is brought in. Sound therapy tables, an infrared crystal mat, acutonics, and the signature Third Eye Bath are standard inclusions across the menu.

Three principles we work from.

Results over ritual.
A treatment should produce something measurable, a clearer surface, less tension, a quieter nervous system, a verifiable shift. Ritual that produces nothing measurable is theatre. We are happy to be calming and beautiful, but only when the work also works.

Transparency in formulation.
Every ingredient in every product is disclosed. The formulation logic is published. Where most brands hide behind proprietary blends, we publish ours. If a formulation cannot be defended publicly, it should not be applied to a client.

Planet-positive or it doesn't ship.
